Yes! Evergreen Tree Care takes worker health and safety very seriously. We currently hold a valid Clearance Certificate from WSIB.

Every Arborist at Evergreen Tree Care has completed a post-secondary degree in Arboriculture from Humber College.

Further, our Arborists on staff are certified through the Ontario College of Trades or the International Society of Arboriculture. These certifications have been earned through mandatory schooling, on the job hours, and a qualifying written examination of knowledge in Arboricultural best practices.

While it is not necessary that you be home when we work on your trees, we don’t mind if you are! This gives us the opportunity to ensure we perform the job to your satisfaction. All we ask is that you maintain a safe distance from our work zones and any overhead work!

We ask that any previously discussed cars are moved, access-ways are clear, gates unlocked, and any furniture or garden ornaments are removed from beneath your tree. This will allow us to begin work immediately and is a very much appreciated gesture!

“Topping” a tree refers to the act of removing whole tops of trees, large branches and/or trunks from the tops of trees, leaving stubs or lateral branches that are too small to assume the role of a terminal leader. The large wounds left from a topping cut allow easy access for pathogens, bacterial decay, moisture, and fungus, which can severely weaken or kill your tree. Further, new tissue growth in the area of a topping cut is generally weak and prone to breakage and decay. A topped tree is generally more hazardous than a taller, intact tree.

At Evergreen Tree Care, we do not top trees. However, we will work with you to find alternative maintenance to keep your tree at it’s best!
